81000 - ALBI
Depending on their needs, our young students have numerous housing options: apartments, dormitories, guesthouses and more. Many students choose to share apartments, while others opt for short-term rentals that correspond to the time they are in the city or at the company.
IPI Albi assists them in their search so they can find the best solution.
The LUNCH CORNER is the cafeteria for our students. As part of the partnership with the Mines d’Albi school, any person who is in a program at IPI Albi can access the restaurant and the cafeteria on this campus. Various restaurants, bakeries and other dining options are located nearby and offer balanced meals.
Albi is located one hour from Toulouse, the capital of the Occitanie Pyrénées – Méditerranée region. It has 10 competitiveness hubs, including Aerospace Valley, Cancer Bio Santé and Agrimip Innovation, DERBI, OPTITEC and EUROBIOMED.
This region has an impressive industrial offer, made up of major industry names in the sectors of aerospace, agri-food, pharmaceuticals, eco-technologies and the optical industry to name a few, along with very successful SMEs and smaller businesses. Just two hours from the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea, the area has 11 sites registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Albi, The Episcopal City.
Located in the center of a region filled with research institutes and institutions of higher learning, Albi is home to the engineering school Ecole d’ingénieur des Mines d’Albi, Jean-François Champollion University and many other institutions of higher learning that offer full programs (bachelor’s and master’s degrees) and international degrees. It has a total of 4,500 students including in&ma’s student body.
Albi, the Episcopal City, was registered as a world heritage site in 2010. The entire structure holds the Sainte-Cécile Cathedral and the Berbie Palace, built with brick that possesses a unique color, vibrancy and harmony. The palace has a world-renowned art collection, the largest collection of work by the painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The fashion museum, the Lapérouse museum, the Academy of Minatures Museum, the L.A.I.T. contemporary art center, renaissance hotels and an ancient city center provide many options for learning about the city. Added to that, there is the national theatre with a varied program showcasing all of the performing arts.
Medieval, fortified bastide towns, cathedrals, vineyards, and regional gastronomy abound amid the region’s contrasting landscapes, offering a wide range of possible outings. The Tarn is also the land of rugby with the Castres Olympique club ranked in the top 14 and the Sporting Club Albigeois club in D.2. And let’s not forget golfing, mountain biking, horseback riding and kayaking and canoeing, all of it charged with the rebel spirit that the area’s inhabitants proudly celebrate.
